Lower School Parent Involvement Day has been postponed with a later date. The date is still to be determined. Lower School families, you will receive more information today in your email inbox.
There will be NO SCHOOL on January 19th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Enjoy your day off!
At Hope Academy, our school uniform reflects unity, belonging, and a commitment to excellence. Wearing the correct uniform each day communicates a readiness to learn and fosters community.
This year, we want to emphasize one area in particular: shoes for Lower School students. As stated in the Lower School Parent Handbook, students must wear solid black athletic shoes every day. Please see the attached Uniform Flyer for details and images.
All lower school students must have the correct all black athletic shoes. Due to limited inventory and budget, we are not always able to provide shoes for students to borrow so please plan accordingly.

Parent Involvement Day offers a unique opportunity for parents to immerse themselves in the enriching, Christ-centered education their children are experiencing. By participating, you not only see the dynamic environment firsthand but also strengthen the vital connections between parents, teachers, and children. Your involvement sends a powerful message to your child: that their education is a priority and that you are an active partner in their journey. As Proverbs 22:6 reminds us, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it."
This year, the theme of Parent Involvement Day is "The Power of Play." This emphasizes how essential play is in facilitating learning and emotional growth. Engaging with your child in play allows you to foster creativity, strengthen problem-solving skills, and deepen your bond, all while having fun. At Parent Involvement Day, you'll gain practical insights into how play can be leveraged as a powerful tool in your child's education and development. This is your chance to become an active leader in their lives, equipping them with the support they need to flourish both at home and in the community. Join us and discover how embracing the power of play enriches the educational journey, enabling your child to grow into a confident, loving individual who serves both God and others.
~ Dr. G, Head of Family Ministry
Kindergarten parents are required classes that meet the first Tuesday of the month for an hour at Hope Academy or virtually on the first Wednesday of the month. Classes are led by Dr. Darrell Gillespie and cover topics like sibling rivalry, tough conversations, community building and much more! They will go from October - May. Students do not need to attend. One or both parents may attend the sessions.
Upcoming dates: Tuesday, February 3rd & Wednesday, February 4th (zoom).
Please note: there will be NO parent groups in January.
As we move further into the school year, we want to remind families of our school’s head lice policy. If a student is found to have live lice, their families will be notified and students may can return to school 24-hours after treatment has been applied.
Our school does not conduct mass lice checks, so we encourage parents to regularly check their children at home. If a case occurs in your child’s classroom, we will send a general notice to that class, - no names shared.
To help prevent the spread of lice, please remind your child not to share hats, headphones, hair accessories, or bedding, and to keep personal items in their own cubbies or lockers.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school community healthy. Please reach out if you have any questions.
To ensure the safety of all students, any parent who wishes to enter a classroom during the school day (for volunteering, events, birthdays, chaperoning, lunch visits, etc.) must first complete a free background check at the front desk. Please bring a photo ID to complete this process as soon as possible. The background check must be completed 48 hours before your visit. Background checks must be completed every school year.
We appreciate your partnership in keeping our school safe and welcoming for every child.
At Hope Academy, we have a number of groups for parents to connect, grow, and encourage one another. We invite you to join one of our parent groups this fall:
